University Outreach Advisor

Originally from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Dominic moved to Miami in 2013 to study landscape architecture at Florida International University, where he earned his masters degree in Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design. He has been most engaged by his investigations and volunteer projects which focus on re-thinking the singular-based utility of urban infrastructure, particularly those in urban spaces which deal head-on with issues of urban ecological intersections and sustainable urban planning. As Dominic became more familiar with the inherent potential embedded in landscape architecture, he came to realize its still-untapped potential to shape space and foster connections between people and experiences throughout our settled and urban conditions, issues that remain untapped because of a general lack of understanding among many individuals about what defines this profession and how it is of benefit to all. As such he has been interested in finding ways to demonstrate how landscape architecture can create places, inspired by collaboration and innovation, that shape vibrant, transformative places into places of cultural identity. Dominic is now currently a Landscape Designer for Calvin, Giordano & Associates located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida since graduating in 2018.
